SOMEONE ASKED
AN AI.
YOU WEREN'T
THE ANSWER.

It didn't hand back a list of websites. It handed back a name. If it wasn't yours, that customer never knew you existed.

Your potential customer no longer types into Google and compares ten links.

They ask an AI.

ChatGPT, Gemini, or the search engine's own generated answer.

And it replies with one name. Maybe two.

If that answer isn't yours,
that customer never knew you existed.

0%

of Google searches now end without a single click to any website. The search engine doesn't send you the visit: it replaces it with an answer.

The confusion going around
SEO
isn't
dead.

Some say it's all AI now and SEO no longer matters. It's the opposite: ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews don't cite pages that aren't indexed, that can't be crawled, or that nobody considers a trustworthy source.

Being indexed, being crawlable, having authority — that's still plain, hard SEO. Without that foundation, no AI even learns you exist.

How they fit together
SEO first.
GEO
on top.

Regular SEO gets you a spot in the list. But an AI doesn't read the whole list: it picks one or two sources and answers with those.

To be the one it picks takes something more — consistent data (your name, your area, your trade, the same everywhere) and content that answers the question directly, not just talks around the topic.

It's not about replacing SEO with AI. It's doing the SEO you've always done — and on top of that, making your content ready to be the answer, not just one more result. One holds up the other.

You're no longer
competing for a click.
You're competing
to be the answer.
What decides if an AI names you
01

Your baseline SEO

If your website isn't indexed, can't be crawled, or has no authority at all, no AI knows you exist — Google wouldn't either, without that. It's the first filter, and without passing it there's no conversation to have.

02

What's said about you off your own website

Directories, social profiles, reviews: if your name, address and activity don't match everywhere, the AI has no way to confirm you're trustworthy — so it picks whoever is consistent.

03

Whether an AI crawler can actually read you

GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended all visit your site before they can cite it. Block them, or give them nothing clear to read, and you're not even part of the conversation.

What we did on our own website
3 CHANGES.

No new ranking trick. This is exactly what we did — verifiable, not a theory.

01

We wrote llms.txt, a file AIs can read directly: who we are, what we do, on what terms — without having to interpret it.

02

We filled in the data AIs cross-check to confirm we exist: phone number, founder, service area — identical everywhere we appear.

03

We verified that AI crawlers (ChatGPT's, Claude's, Google's) can actually get in and read — not that they bounce.

At Onaia we do the SEO we've always done. And on top of that, we get your website ready for the day someone asks an AI about a business like yours.
